We have a mix of rooms, all accessible, with good travel links via road and rail, plenty of public parking nearby, and catering facilities (check out our menus here) from our on-site café,
Cabbages & Kings.
100% of the profits from room hire at The Mix go towards empowering and enabling young people to change their world and ours.

Catering menus
Your booking is in safe hands!
Food packages include breakfast, lunch, tea and cake, and early evening bites.
Food is freshly made on-site for your event by our friendly team and young people, using locally sourced produce where possible.
If your booking is at The Mix you will have the Cabbages & Kings catering menu. Duck & Teapot menu is only available for bookings at Duck & Teapot.

Profits from your room bookings go back to The Mix youth work charity.
The Mix is a charity committed to empowering and enabling young people to change their world and ours.
Delivering youth work out in the community, in local primary and secondary schools across Mid-Suffolk, within a purpose-built venue in the heart of Stowmarket and a satellite venue in Needham Market.
The Mix offers a breadth of youth work provision:

Empower primary school provision across 11 schools through weekly one-to-one mentoring for young people (10-11yrs) for a year with our trained volunteers.

Crucial Crew: annual event focusing on personal safety for over 1000 year 6 pupils from multiple schools across Suffolk, including sessions on emotional fitness, nutrition, first aid, environment, fire, road safety, substances, and online safety.

Schools Youth Work: taking place in local secondary schools, coaching and workshops for young people at-risk of social or education exclusion (11-16yrs), four days of support /week in Stowmarket and Stowupland high schools, Thurston Community College, and Holbrook Academy.

Thrive: Alternative education provision for young people struggling to cope in school (11-16yrs), providing 4 full days of learning /week.

Open-access: in Stowmarket and Needham Market - 3 evenings/week and 3-4 days/week in holidays inc. sports, arts, cooking, gaming, social skills development (10–19yrs).

Detached: youth work taking place in locations frequented by young people in Needham Market and Stowmarket (10–19yrs), 2 sessions/week and 10 weekend community events.

Mentoring/Coaching: one-to-one work embedded in all programmes according to individual needs.

Diadem: 6-week programme to support positive relationships and resilience for girls (12-24yrs). 4 programmes per year for groups of young people. This programme has been recently granted new funding which will allow for more group sessions, assemblies and much more.

Together Project: one-to-one support and workshops for NEET young people experiencing barriers (15–24 years).

We are committed to inclusivity and have a dedicated special educational needs (SEN) youth worker based out of The Mix who supports our youth work delivery.
